Welcome to the Short or Tall Ambassadors page, where we proudly highlight local leaders, athletes, artists, and all those who make our community a better place to live and thrive. Our ambassadors embody the spirit of Short or Tall, inspiring others through their unique journeys and dedication to excellence. We are committed to celebrating these remarkable individuals and will feature new ambassadors regularly, shining a light on those who represent our values and community.

Tony Nelson, a redshirt freshman on the Gophers track & field team, earned Academic All-Big Ten honors while competing primarily in shot put. After making his official debut at the Hurricane Invitational with a season-best mark of 17.33m, he placed fourth at the Drake Relays and 16th at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships. During his freshman season, he competed unattached in five meets. A graduate of Tracy-Milroy-Balaton High School in Minnesota, Nelson was a three-sport athlete who won the 2021 Class A state championship in shot put and was rated as the No. 5 prospect in Minnesota by 247Sports. He comes from an athletic family, with his father Terry playing football at Southwest Minnesota State, brother Tommy at Bethel University, and sister Jessie playing volleyball at Rochester Community and Technical College.

Danny Striggow is a standout defensive lineman for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, bringing strength and skill to the defensive lineup. A native of Orono, Minnesota, Danny has earned recognition for his relentless work ethic and on-field leadership. Standing at 6’5” and weighing 250 pounds, he combines size and agility to make impactful plays. Danny’s dedication extends beyond the field, as he excels academically and embodies the values of teamwork and perseverance. With his passion for football and commitment to excellence, Danny Striggow is a key contributor to the Gophers’ success.

Brooklyn Leste, from Champlin, MN, is a 2024 graduate of Champlin Park High School. She has been dancing since the age of 2 with the Northern Force Dance Company and is now excited to continue her passion for dance with the 22-time national champion University of Minnesota Dance Team. Currently a freshman at the Carlson School of Management, Brooklyn balances her time between performing, practicing, and her studies. Outside of her commitments, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and relaxing with friends.
